8-29-2012 Boynton Wahoo

Headed out this morning with Chris and Billy. Cleared the inlet to seas about 2-4 feet. Head north and put the spread out in 80 feet. Tons of turtle grass and weeds everywhere. Kept getting weeded up from 150-400 feet. After a couple hours of that and getting pushed way north of the lw peir, we head back south. We go into shallower water to get away from the weeds. Going straight south into the waves was a bumpy troll but worth it. South of the peir in 180 we get a knockdown and when i grab the rod i accidently bumped the reel in free spool. Ended up losing him and getting a bird nest. Then about 9:15am we here drag screaming. We turn around and look at the braid and that wasn't going off. Look at the other down rod and drag screaming off with the planer still set. After a quick fight he is boat side and Chris with the gaff shot in the boat he goes. Gave it another hour and half then called it a day. Seas were getting a little chunky in the inlet was starting to pick up. Got the wahoo in 280 feet inbetween the ritz and vanderbelts.
