Spanish Sardines, anyone find them in the bay area lately?

I remember when I was in high school we used to net lots of spaniards around the Dunedin causeway, every now and then we will get a rogue one in a school of whitebait in Hillsborough bay but I haven't seen schools in a while. I know they are almost the same as whitebait but I had some of my best snook and red outings in Dunedin throwing spaniards. They seemed to cast better because of the body shape and thickness I just had so much confidence in them. I know I am wierd, lol. I am Just curious if anyone finds them regularly.
