New Toy

Working on logistics and price.

It's not a full blooded airboat, but may scratch the itch for a couple years. Powered by a 35 Vanguard Briggs, which I have alot of confidence and experience with.

Anybody got any business in Tampa Sunday?

You need to set up a mud run at the lake. Lots of mud and some good videos could be taken....expecially if the kid Hastings comes.

Could that thing stop on a mud flat and then get moving again or is it just a touch better that what you have??

If I go get it Sunday, I'll be on Miccosukee no later than Monday evening.

I know it will do better than my boat in the shallows. Don't know about stopping on a dry mud flat, but I'll invite you and bring the pushpole, so we'll try it.

The guys grandson is being baptized Sunday morning. Told him I would be there around 2pm.

Looks like its a 5 hour drive from my house to his, so I wouldn't leave until 8:00.

I don't think I'll take it out on a test drive. I know the builder of the boat and it's set up to perform correctly. I'll just hear the motor run while on the trailer and if everything looks right, hook it up and come home.

BTW... Take the pushpole with you...

Put in at the park ramp. head upstream 50yards turn left into spring vent area...
shut motor off and pole in.... swimming area...

Come out of swimming area and Gulf of Mexico is downstream about 4 miles...

So you killed a couple hours....

They'll be at Disney World with their mom. And no I'm not driving from Tampa to Orlando to spend a few hours at a water park and then get home at midnight. My wife has already suggested this.

It would be a no go in the wave pool but you could have fun in the lazy river with that thing.

Ten hours with Micci at shotgun will be just like going to Disney World.

Yep, raking in millions at 10% of $500. ;)

Actually I'm having to sell my bay boat to make this purchase. Just moving funds from one money pit to another.

If you haven't done so already research a product called "frog spit". I hear it will make the bottom of an airboat super slick.

Frog spit is good as well as gator glide. I have it on mine and it's worked great.

It already has a slick coat on the bottom. Not sure of its condition, but if its 7 years old, it needs to be replaced.

I put Gator Glide on my aluminum hull and the application is easy. To reapply it, you don't have to prep the hull or anything, just roll it on.

I've used Steel Flex in the past you have to scrape it all off before you put a new coat on.

Could you place the "frog spit or gator glide" on a Carolina skiff?

    What about a poly kayak?

Only helps if you are sliding over stumps, logs or thick grass. But you can put it on anything.

Done deal. Boat was in great shape for a 7 yr old rig.

Big thumbs up to Micciman for riding shotgun to Tampa. Unfortunately I'll have to get the inside of the truck detailed to get all the drool off the seat. 13 hour round trip and he slept through the whole thing. ;)
