Hey guys this report was from sunday 6/23 ML. Me and my buddy got tired of sitting around waiting on the weather to clear so we decided to tough it out and hit up the lagoon for some tropical storm fishing! We loaded up my maverick and headed out after lunch. I'm going to be honest I was not expecting a good day but hey it was better then sitting at home. We put in at river breeze about 2pm and headed south to the clinkers. The wind was blowing from the south and we set up for a nice drift. The wind was blowing about 20mph and we had to use 2 small anchors just to slow the boat down while drifting. We started throwing some top water plugs and spoons with no luck so we both switched to gulp shrimp. About halfway through our drift my buddy kyle hooked up with a nice under slot red to start the day. We were feeling pretty good and about 2 minutes later the bite turned on. He hooked up with another red that measured in about 22inches. About 5 minutes later he hooked up with a nice 22inch trout. With 2 fish in the box and neither were mine i was feeling pretty sour. We set up for another drift and about halfway through i hooked up with a fun 23inch red. Come the end of the day we got 3 reds and numerous trout. It just goes to show that sometimes you just got to tough the weather out and give it a try. BTW when we got off the water i was perfectly dry thanks to my frogg toggs. Here are some pictures for you guys. We didn't kill the reds but hey on a day like that i'll take it.
