I caught a 3' sharpnose a few weeks ago on a live squirrel fish, but nothing since then. One day around the same time my father in'law caught about a dozen small ones.

Very large sharks have made their way up in the bay. They are eating cownose rays, mackerel and jacks.

We were off Anclote Saturday and after doing some fast trolling with experimental purple daisychained mirrorlures we got a couple bonitos. Was doing some bottom fishing after that and ran out of live pins so we used one of the bonitos for strip bait. Didn't take long and we had several sharks to fight. Sorry..Quality of pic sux cause it was a snapshot off the video.. But they kept us busy for awhile since we already had our other limits . A month before there were some 5 footers in 2 ft of water by Honeymoon

I suppose you'll find large sharks anywhere around tarpon (the fish, not Springs). :fishing

Go off of any beach about 1-2 miles and drift with stink baits, pins, and chum. All the sharks you want

That should be easy...an island corner should do if you are willing to wait.

Well i went out last night on a pier 60 with a friend instead of taking the boat out and have to say that it was one of the best days of fishing in awhile... Between the both of us we caught 60 speckled trout and i caught a nice 6ft blacktip... He had a nice one on too but got broke off.. I desided that i will be taking the boat out next weekend along with some chum down to clearwater to try my luck again... Great night wish they could all be more like that but thats fishing... A bad day of fishin is better than any day at work..

Keep fishing that area, it is very sharky. Go right outside the pass and chum, chum, chum. I use catfish, ladyfish, pinfish, fillet them up and put them in a chum bag. Give it a few shakes to let more sent out and you will have all the sharks you can handle all around your boat.

There is a ramp towards the north end of CW Beach, but it's on the intercoastal side, so I'm not sure how much time it would save you over Seminole after you fight the beach (road) traffic.

I want to get some Blacktips or bonnethead.. All I have is a kayak and want to get into the St. Joseph sound area on Thursday for sharks.. let me know if you'd ever like to go after them on your boat. I'm in Palm Harbor so usually launch Crystal beach..

Rick do you mean a spoil island corner or one of the big ones? Any advice would be great.. in a kayak I have enough
    other things to worry about..

    Thanks!

Ft. Desoto has a bunch of bonnet heads, fish for reds and you're bound to catch a couple bonnet heads. Crab chunks and claws under a cork just above the bottom in 3-5ft of water seem to be the trick.

The ramp is on the street where the Clearwater Beach rec center is. Just go straight down that road and you come right up on it. It will be about the same distance at either ramp.

There are tons of sharks around the spoil islands too, I also only have a kayak and that is where I go if I don't feel like paddling off the beach. Same thing, use some chum and keep adding to it everytime you catch another ladyfish, catfish, etc while you are waiting for your bait rod to go off. I like to get in the shallower areas around the islands like 3-5ft so I can sight cast them. Watch your chum bag though and have it rigged to break away if a big shark decides to grab it, I had a 12ft plus hammerhead try to take mine a few weeks ago.
