CR Rough Reds 5-19-2012
It has been a while since I posted any reports, so I figured it was time to do so. I will tell you this, “The Weatherman Lies ” calling for 2-3ft seas a good boating day, yeah right. It was more like 5-6ft seas winds blowing 15–18 knots. Bounded and determined we made our way to the 50ft range in search of Red Grouper. Once there we started pulling grouper in the boat left and right, them darn endangered Gags were everywhere and LARGE, hated to have to throw them back, Catching 30”ers weighting at 14lbs will wear you out in a hurry. Bait of the day was BIG SPOTTAILS, but various baits were used with success as well, water temp was 81 degrees on the surface of 50’. Not many pictures were taken do to the rough waters in the am, we ended with one short of our 3 man limit, Enjoy some of the pictures that were taken in the afternoon. Lucky for us by late afternoon the wind laid down making it a decent ride back in.
