what we did this weekend & when is this boat gonna stop rocking?

copout@castaways[email protected] Posts: 5,779 Admiral
Took our daughter on the Disney Dream for her 5th birthday.

Disney princesses are hot & I ate A LOT!

Now to the question. We were on the boat for 3 nights in pretty calm seas but still 36hrs later both the wife & I still have sea legs. Anyone else experience this?

Also the minute I stepped on the boat I could feel the sway but I was the only one in our party that could.
Is it because I spend more time on the water than the others?

That sick feeling is the one you get from spending that much jack on a 5 yo's birthday.
It will go away as fast as your credit cards available balance. Looks like your daughter had fun though. Lol

I could feel the boat rock on the last cruise I went on. A few others could but not everybody we were with.
It made me borderline sea sick one of the nights and it wasnt even that rough. Something about them big boats I'm guessing.
I float in the little boat fleet.

    Awesome looking trip man!

I've never been on a cruise ship, but on larger boats (head boats, sportfishermen, etc), I get seasick just about every time, even if it's flat calm. On smaller boats (<30ft+/-), I can be in super rough seas, and no issues. Scopace patches (or pills) solve the problem or me though....nothing else works.

I've gone on 2 cruises. That's enough for me. Just not my thing. takes several days to get used to the land not moving.

And then there's my mom. When I was growing up my mom would never go on the boat. Bigger boats too, a 42 Bertram and a 46 hatteras. My mom could get seasick looking at a picture and now cruise ships are her preferred way of traveling. I don't get it.

Nice work dad. We have a 5 year old too......the love some Disney at that age. We try to take ours to Disney as much as we can. It will be just a few short years before they have "better" things to do. Enjoy it!

........and for the record, I am a big Tinker Bell fan. That short skirt is smokin'

I thought " having sea legs" meant you were accustomed to the pitching and swaying and couldnt feel it?

Funny, I'm the same way. ON a CC I can be in 10-12 and no issues, but on a sporty I can and do get sick. Maybe the pitch and roll is a bit different and one face full of diesel and I'm done.

I've got photos of all the princesses, I'll post them later when I get home. Ariel was my girl but she's been kicked to the curb for Belle.

back to work today & hating it!

He melted a four sided isen glass enclosure, sent sweet cheeks to the transom puking and ruined an entire helm carpet with one blast.

When we got back from our cruise it took about a week to stop rocking especially while in the shower. But I never got sick.
