gee, i guess the 2 doctors my dad helped get a house in miami in 1959 were marielitos? along with many many other wealthy cubans who were able to flee cuba because they had funds were marielitos as well? get real. your arrogance is exceeded by only your lack of knowledge of florida's history.

I'm glad America invented the Cuban sammich. For example, we invented the enchirtito! Mexicans have no idea what that is. USA

REAL Cuban sandwich = filets from a 2-lb bonefish on dry weekold bread with a dash of rat urine.

^ I can tell right off, you like the "tubesteak sandwich" right?

Can anyone provide carbon dating proof of where the first Cuban sammich was left?

Been to Havana. What a disapoinmnet the authentic cuban sandwhich was. A fry pressed split hotdog on stale bread and a squirt of mustard. Cost me a stinkin quarter to boot. It was however served with smile and a Cristal

Since I was heading that way, after reading about cuban sandwiches, I decided to stop into Brocato's today for a cuban. I arrived there after the lunch rush, or so I thought. There was a line out the door at 1:30. I didn't want to wait, so I continued East on Broadway to Orient road and had a nice pressed cuban at Sonnys sandwich shop for $2 less than Brocato's.

It's really painful to see a 6" cuban going for $7.99 !!! when I used to get one for 60 cents or so. Yeah, I'm old and prices have gone up, but that's an increase of about 13 times, or 1300%. I used to carry 20 or 30 dollars around for pocket money. With this kind of sammich inflation I should now be carrying around $260-390 dollars just to keep up.

Seriously though, with those prices, three registers going full tilt, and a line out the door, Brocato's must be doing something right.

Probably like Nachos, invented in the US from throw away materials from other stuff so people can argue about authentic this and that. :)
