Theme 3 - A favorite shot that just didn't work out right.

A different theme! Everyone must have a photo where they love the subject and composition, but the technical aspect was off, resulting in a disappointing shot. Post one up.

I was messing with some photos last night and was trying to "fix" this one. It was taken at a Barbary Ape preserve in Britain. Where they raise the Apes then release them back in Africa. I was watching this mother and baby and got the shot just as they looked into each other's eyes. However, due to shake and them being in the shadow where I was shooting from the sunlight, it came out slightly blurred. I cannot get the picture to where it needs to be.

Shot with a fixed lens Panasonic FZ-30 at 89mm. f.3.7, 1/30 sec.

Reworked shot as best as I can get it.

Sure, I will play. Here is a recent (from early this Spring) image. Somehow I missed the shutter speed (something I am always so careful about) and the original image was flat. Also, how did I not get the foot in there? Juvenile Black Crowned Night Heron, for those who care.

Why is it a favorite? Well, how often do you see a Juvie BCNH? For as much time as I spend in the outback, this particular day was the first time for me.

Sounds like half my shots! Gonna be hard to pick out just one.
