I am looking at doing a fishing trip for peacocks up the amazon with my son. I would greatly appreciate feedback from those who have made the trip, good and bad, and any other info.

Call Joey Mines, in Macon Georgia. He is a host of a fishing show and a striper guide on West Point Lake. He has filmed several shows down in the amazon for peacocks. He has a story from one trip that is the biggest horror story I have ever heard. He can at least get you started on what to look for when planning a trip and what to avaid. He is one heck of a good guy and will be glad to help.

Another source of information may be Larry Dahlberg. I have no idea how you would get in contact with him but he does tons of shows down in that part of the world, which takes tons of planning. He has a discussion forum for his show that I have looked at for tips on lure making. He will come on the forum and answer questions from time to time.

    Hope that helps.

I fished with him some years ago in Brazil at River Plate Outfitters - http://www.riverplateanglers.com/
Happiness is the journey, not the destination.
