Oh my god. The quail population just has been destroyed, them bugs and seeds that they eat are going to run ut of control and mess up the enviroment<SARC

Love me some quail. In the winter when I was a youngster it was common to have quail, eggs, grits, and cats heads biscuits for breakfast. **** good eats there. I also like quail split down the back and simply grilled with butter, salt and pepper.
I just ate and now I'm hungry again. BTW, I had bbq'd spare ribs, homemade coleslaw, corn on the cob, and baked beans.

it is impressive to see someone that can actually find enough quail to bother cooking them. When i was young only the rich and the farmers hunted quail. And now all I ever hear is how there aren't any.
reminds me of the time my cousin from Baltimore visited us ... he wanted to hunt some quail so borrowed a shotgun and off he went to the far pasture ... brought back three 'quail' and proceeded to cook and eat them .... he didn't care for the taste very much ... I told him "Yeah, not too many folk eat meadowlark. Must be because of the way they taste."

My son works as a guide at a quail hunting lodge. I hunt there a few times a year and this year he brought me 100 quail at the end of the season.:thumbsup

The only reason I opened this thread was to see where you were going to put the BACON. I wasn't disappointed. Some milk gravy, from the drippin's, over rice would be the topper on that meal.
