Lawn tractor or zero turn
OK. I have a lawn tractor now and I want a new lawn mowing device. I have a fair amount of lawn to mow. One yard is big and flat. The other yards are smaller but have swales and inclines. I have been mowing with a yard tractor with 42' cut. I like the deck size. Should I invest in a zero turn or just obtain another tractor?

I had a 60" zero turn a few years ago and now I have a 36" zero turn. The lighter weight 36" does have more tire spin and you have to take slopes a a little different angle. Try to stick with a quality brand as well.

If your looking strickly for a mowing device, zero turners like the Dixie are the best.
If you want attachmemts you need the tractor. I suggest a hydrostatic trans model over a standard trans model. My 18 hp will tow the boat around the yard easy, I also have a hitch reciever on the front so I can back the boat into about anywhere. The 42" deck is OK, but if I had a lot to mow I would go with gang-reel mowers.

My yard is 1 acre. To mow, edge, trim, blow and weed the beds is $42/week.
Is that paid equally to each of your children?
Your children mow the lawn, right? I was just curious how you split the pay.
