I'm in the market for something I can bring on the bike, kayak, and hike. Mostly for scenic still shots. Under $500, thanks.

Canon's SD Series. Spend the most you're comfortable with but even the bottom of the line is outstanding.

I have my eye on this one. I currenty have an older Olympus waterproof, but might replace it with this.

Canon S95, Canon S100, Canon G12, Nikon 7000, Nikon AW100.

From what I've been reading....Cannon S100 hands down.
Cannon G12 and Nikon P7000 are a bit bigger than "compact".
I've shot over 10,000 shots on my P7000 and it's great outdoors, but is horrible for indoor flash stuff.
