Quick Gulfside Report... 9 March

Over in General...I said that I was fishing today no matter what.

Seas were good, scattered rain, Strong tides (full moon), green water, not too bad and cool...

Fished just West/Southwest of Smith Shoal,

Caught Cobia, Grouper, Mangrove/Yellowtail Snapper, Grouper (all Reds) and various Jacks and Bluefish.

All on dead bait...wind out of the E/SE...Strong current on the outgoing had the boat laying beam-to...Nose of the boat pointed North...Chum flow to the East (and strong) while on anchor till after 2:00.

Used 1/4 to 1/2oz jigs with cut bait (Ballyhoo, Bonito, etc...) in 35' on the rise up to 20'.

I would expect same conditions tomorrow.

I did hear of some dolphin in close on the south side.

Catch'em Up! :beer
