Peacock Bass Help

Hey guys, I will have a friend visiting the area in March or April and he has never fished for Peacock Bass. He said he would like to fish the MIA lakes since that is the area he has read and heard about. How has the peacock bite been in the lakes recently? Should we head further south :driver: and fish the canals in Kendall or Homestead?...I live in NW Broward. If you guys have any info or tips that would help us out, it would be greatly appreciated. Not asking for your secret spot, just a general area where the peacocks have recovered from the last major chill that put a hurting on them:stinkfish . i fished the C4 near SW 8th street 3 days ago and caught 4 peacocks and a few jaguar cichlids

If you live in NW Broward then you shouldn't be driving down to Miami...I fish the most of Broward County, primarily the Pembroke Pines, Cooper City, and Weston areas and the peacocks are every where...If you're every interested in getting in to some, just let me know...

I am taking my son fishing for his birthday around Thanksgiving. He is dying to catch a Peacock Bass. We live in Tampa and are going to Miami/Everglades camping-fishing. Where could we get started.

I've caught several Peacocks on small top water plugs in the Ida and Osourne chain this month. The biggest was 5lbs and the smallest was in the 2 pound range. No need to drive that far south to catch peacock.
