HOMOSASSA REPORT 29 FEB

Ran my updated 56 year old aluminum skiff out from the river and then south to Mendit Key and the nearby islands. Did fairly well today, but was mostly exploring. Brought home one 18" Trout for dinner. Released 6 slot Trout and about the same number of shorts. Lost a really nice one at the boat due to breaking a hook on a Mirrodine. Must have weakened it using pliers on another fish. Also released one Red and a small Gag. Caught him on a deep spinnerbait in a 12' hole in a break in one of the reefs. I did better out in the open in deeper water. The temp was warmer today, up to 74 in the mid afternoon on the shallow "Swiss Cheese" limerock bottom shallows.

No camera with today, but here's a before & after of my skinny water boat.

MY WORST FEAR......THAT WHEN I DIE MY WIFE WILL SELL ALL MY BOATS & FISHING GEAR FOR WHAT I TOLD HER I PAID FOR IT.......

I may not always agree with what you say,
but I will always respect your right to be wrong!
