Headed out around 9, plan was to go look for some dolphin then come back in and put up the kites and just bend a rod. Ran out about 10 miles only to find some scattered weeds in about 500. Trolled a mixed spread for over an hour without a single hit. Sooooo we moved back in shore to find very clear water....due to the stream being in so close. First bait out gets picked up within minutes and he found his way above the 6 inches of wire. Over the next 2 hours not a thing...gogs on the kite and the flat....and even on the bottom....nodda ! Changed it up a little and decided to try shallow. Found the small kings in about 50 ft and they cleaned out all the gogs. Had some fun with them for awhile and kept a few for the grill. Ended the day with a few snapper and aj's....sharks took full advantage of us.... I ended up giving them over 10 hooks....along with whatever was on the hooks!!!
