I think they'll keep it rising now, then have a major drop in prices the month before election time.

I will gladly pay $4-5 this year for a change in administration. Its an investment in our future.

Well, at least you come right out and admit that your are willing to harm America, if it harms Obama in the process.

What other ills do you wish on the country out of your petty hatred of Obama?

Disgusting and as unpatriotic as one can get, but like I said, at least you come right out and say it. would another terrorist strike be an investment in our future too?

:rotflmao :USA Oh, now it's a few months of high gas prices that will harm the country from a president who said gas needs to be $5? Not requiring business to pay for health care for entry level jobs? Not paying $1M for a soccer field for Gitmo? Not letting Iran get nukes? Not apologizing to a country that's killing our people? Not cutting benefits for military while keeping them for Unions? Not giving billions to his friend's business so they can get big bonuses before closing up shop?

Wow, I used to think you had some level of intelligence, way to come out and remove that false impression. Hell, that might be twice I'm wrong now.

Between taking refineries off line to set up for summer blends which means less supply and higher prices, and the Iran thing which is just an excuse for speculators to bid up the price per barrel. The price of at the pump is artificially high right now and should come back down in the coming weeks. Just my .02

Edited as to not bring politics here, but really guys, it's not cool in any way to hope for higher gas prices just 'cuse you hate Obama.

Yep it is Obama's fault - exactly like it was Bush's fault the last time it was this high.

When was the last time the federal fuel tax was raised? 1993

What do you guys want? State oil like Venezuela?

BT, what are you talking about? Even Stephen Chu came out and admitted it's not a priority to lower prices. Even came from Politico:

"Chu: DOE working to wean U.S. off oil, not lower prices" and it's through higher prices as he stated before. He/they want to get to get to European levels of pricing.

I guess Even Bill Clinton came out today saying the XL Pipeline should be built.

From Politico as well. Not known to be bastion of conservatisim either.

I wish he would choke on something and die, but I don't want high gas prices.

Sorry, I have never voted because of "coolness" or guilt.. I did write a paper on it in the '93ish though. O' has a new pipeline dangling in front of him... He could be a hero. It would be one more tiny blip on here. BTW, who said they HOPE for higher prices? You aren't putting words in my mouth again are you?

The problem is speculation. If they required people to take delivery of the oil they trade it would be a different market. IN the meantime, I'll speculate.

Wait till the US, I mean Israel bombs Iran. Oil will be $120 overnight. We dont even get oil from Iran!
which companies are you betting on. NOV has worked for me. I'm thinking about going to RIG. I'm just hoping for a decent dip in prices so I can get back in. Having a hard time jumping in now, unless this Iran thing escalates

Pipeline has no effect on U.S. oil prices, that oil is on it's way overseas from Canada..

Yes, when its no longer in strong demand, or when the US goes over to the feilds and takes what belongs to us in the first place.
