You should not like the Archies (Yummy Yummy Yummy) who were assembled by a very pissed off Don Kirshner, when the Monkees started to believe that they were the characters the portrayed on the TV show and it was easier to deal with cartoons.
All that said, The Monkees were great, groundbreaking, very talented and very tragic, and their music has stood the test of time. Their show were great, especially the epilogues which gave them a chance to talk off camera.
