went out on saturday looking for dolphin from 100-800 feet that never came. Then decided to run in and do some bottom fishing. we set up off the breakers in 80 feet and I put a flatlined dead sardine on a triple hook out. 2 minutes later it got slammed and got this 44 pound king. Then the front moved in and we headed for the inlet. At least we didn't get skunked.

No just a triple hook on 50 pound leader and not even a scratch on the leader. I usully go heavier on the leader when I target kings
