Went out on Tuesday around 7am and tried to get some nice baits at the tripod, after about 10 casts and only a handful of baits I decided to go use what we had and see what happened. So we go anchor up at a 3mile wreck and we just get hit by small mackeral and a small flounder. So I switch up to lighter gear and catch a handful of legal size macs, cut them in half and send them down...we went about 1 for 7 on the goliath grouper...after we were sick of that we headed back into the mangroves in Rookery bay to try and get a trout or red, im new to that area so we did not do to good...just basicly explored. called it a day around 3pm.
Went out Wed around 11:30 am one nice cast with the net and we had a livewell full of nice baits...wind died down so we headed off about 10 miles, caught a bunch of blues, some nice mangrove snapper and some small grouper. I'm really waiting for the **** cobia to show up. My goal this season is three on my boat, ive never boated one so any advice on that would be great. Headed back to the ramp around 5pm, wind had picked up a bit so ride back was not the greatest.
