World's Largest Rod Building Event, High Point, NC

FYI for FS Rod Builders:

HIGH POINT, NC - The world's largest custom rod building event will take place on February 25 & 26, 2012 in High Point, NC. Since its inception 9 years ago, the Expo has continued to grow and expand each and every year. The 2012 event has shaped up to be the largest in the event's 10-year history.

The 2011 event saw nearly 3000 custom rod builders from around the globe examining the latest in rod building products from over 50 exhibitors in 80 booth spaces. The 2012 Expo is expected to eclipse those numbers by a wide margin.

The 2012 Expo will feature 25 continuing education seminars, including basic rod building presentations for those wishing to get started in this rewarding craft. All seminars are free with the price of daily admission.

The Expo is for fishermen too! Anglers that are looking for a new rod or set of rods, made from the finest and most advanced materials can find them via any of a number of world class custom builders who display at the Expo. The rods of tomorrow can be seen today - the Expo is where all the new technological rod advancements are unveiled each year.

The big rod building "Expo" has become not only the world's premier event for custom rod builders, but also serves as the yearly trade show for the custom rod building industry. More information on last year's event, as well as the upcoming 2012 event, can be found at www.rodexpo.com.

Anyone who is a rod builder or interested in rod building should definitely go if you have the time and $$$!!! I've been twice and it almost overwelming how much you can learn in a couple days not to mention all the great folks you'll meet and the super deals you can get there!!! Sure wish I was going this year but I'm travelling from Fla. out to Bremerton Wash. to meet my oldest Son coming back from a 8 month deployement to the middle east abord the USS John C. Stenis!!! I also just spent two plus weeks w/ my younger Son who flew back early from the USS Bataan after 10 months in the middle east! We caught lots of fish in the Big Bend including a 20+lb snook!!!> (posted in the B.B. fishing reports!) He was on leave before being stationed in Jacksonville for the next 4 years after re-enlisting!!! Sorry to go off topic & Brag on my Sons but I'm So Proud I can't help it!!!!!!! Oh one last note, My older Son also re-enlisted for another 4 years but will be stationed in Oregon> Hmmm, better dust off my spey rod!!!

Snook, please tell your sons thank you for their service. You have every right to 'brag', I can't imagine there is a better feeling. If you guys ever come through Orlando/Oviedo please stop by.
