New World Record Largemouth!!!

http://www.igfa.org/records/world-record-largemouth-bass.aspx

I wasn't sure it was official or just another speculation but apparently its the real deal. Don't get too excited though because it was just a tie, however, I imagine the record will fall for good fairly soon with what Japan has been doing with their fisheries. I saw a photo of a 21.5" bass that weighed 11lbs 5oz!!! That's about 6lbs over the average weight for that length fish. It was literally shaped like a football and was so fat her scales didn't even touch.

Dang, man my dreams are shattered a little bit. Do they have the Florida strain largemouths over there? I still feel like the true record will be caught in the southeastern U.S. or California. On apositve note at least the record tied wasn't in China! lal

Yep, they stock florida strain largemouths over there. I think they are considered invasive but im not sure. He got that fish on a live bluegill and said he has heard of bigger ones being caught in nets. George Perry's (tied) bass was caught in Georgia around 1930 i believe. "Dottie" was caught in California but was hooked outside the mouth (during spawn) so it wasnt official
