Nice job fellas.
Hero's Don't Wear Capes....They Wear Dog Tags.
If we could have kept the red snapper we would have been full and out of ice in 12 hours. I saw more reds again in places and edges that never even held muttons before. It was a challege to stay away from them.
Thanks everyone we had a great time this weekend!

Another Class Act from start to finish by the Yankee Capts.
First 24 hours the captains took advantage of the window to put the YC on some phenomenal catching, big Muttons, scamps, reds, blacks, some yelloweyes and on two drops more ARS were caught and released than one can imagine, not scarced by any means.
The second half of the trip was also commendable in that instead of staying put in super rough wheather Capt. Greg called the operation off.
To sum it up, every single angler went home with quality fish, the fishing was great, the service even better, Joe sure got the hang of it in the boat's galley. I have met a few great deckhands aboard the Yankee Capts, but Josh, Chad and Lindden are outstanding, Thank you guys!
I can't wait 'til my next one.

I suppose it actually has something to do with the Monroe county regs? If you are in fact correct, why are all these west coast grouperfishermen tossing them all back?
It has nothing to do with Monroe county it has to do with the Gulf. Season is closed in Atlantic and Monroe County Jan. 1- April 30, Closed in Gulf Excluding Monroe County Fib.1 - March 31. Gag is closed now and Proposed 2012 season for the Gulf is July 1- Oct.31 All grouper are open now except Gag in Gulf. So go catch them up.

The grouper ate a gog and the steroid ''mangrove'' ate a piece half of a small mac. You should of gone great fishing trip .
Everyone caught muttons on this trip even the googs. The gogs was the bait of choice even frozen . O and live shrimp.
Before the front moved in the fish were on fire .Then the seas started to become rough so we had to make our move in to shallow water
Where plenty of red groupers were caught. If the seas didnt get bad we would of had to come in early any ways because of ice.
Which is a very good thing lol. The worse thing about the trip was the red snappers we had to have caught at least 150 , 7-10 lb.
I wanted to ***** at who ever came up with the band. Because its clearly that there enough of them to be able to keep a few
for dinner. We hit 3 spots were they where so thick people were catching them with lures.I hope they can do another count and see
they are wrong and open it again .I want to say thank you capt Greg & Matty and Crew for this great experiance
Now we have them them right in front of Key West. You can easily make a day of it getting 10 PP and be back by lunch.
Greg
Lot of that going around.

Hey fisherman how is fishing in April in the keys.
Red snapper in the GOM and the SA
Grouper will be closed in the SA. We will be able keep grouper in the GOM except gags. In April we usually spend all our time in the GOM.
Everything else is open. Pray for good weather, that is the key.
Greg
Hello and welcome!
There are plenty of other fish that can be kept and targetted during April such as Mutton, mangrove and yellowtail snapper, also kingfish, amberjack, tuna, porgies, margate, black fin tuna, and many others, if the conditions lined up right, we'll come home with plenty for table fare.
If you have any other question do not hesitate to ask me, I'll be on the April 20th Yankee Capts 3 - Day Mutton Marathon trip!
