Hog fishing once again!

A crew of four of us decided to go out last Sunday January 8 in search of some hogs. As usual we get their early (Off Islamorada/Ocean Side) and are heading to the spot as the sun is starting to rise. It turned out to be a very beautiful day out on the water. Me (Carlos) and Mike decided to take on his father and the old man (Moe and Nelson), in a friendly little competition on what team will catch the most hogs:cool. Ofcourse they said we had no chance, and the all in fun trash talking began. Around noon I caught the first hog on the boat, it turned out to be a slow day with a spread out bite. Yet the Grouper must have known January first had passed because they were everywhere!! The whole trip we estimated we caught about 40 groupers. (All Released). By the end of the day Me and Mike caught 6 Hogs and they caught ZERO. :grinRight before calling it a day, they spoke about one of their "spots" where we could catch all the bonefish we want. Me and Mike didnt believe it not for a second. So sure enough they drove us to the spot and we caught 13 Bones in 30Min!!:fishing it was incredible and it was both of ours first time catching one.

It was a great day on the water and regardless who won we all had a great time. We managed 6 Hogfish, some Yellowtail some Mangroves and some very nice sized porgies, a Mackeral and a Mutton Snapper.
