Went out of Hillsboro early yesterday (Thursday the 29th) with a couple of buddies to see what was up. Big swells early, but settled down a bit as the day wore on. Trolled up to Boynton with no action and then headed back south. A bit north of Boca Resort we saw a frigate go by and circle around. Headed toward it and saw some gulls diving too. Suddenly we were in a school of fish chasing bait and dolphin and yellow tails were jumping out of the water. Had a tripleheader of mahi on in an instant. Landed one, one came off, and lost one pulling it on the boat. Threw out a few pilchards and caught another - and as quick as it started it was over. No sign of the birds, no sign of the fish, no sign of whatever bait they were chasing. Trolled around for a couple more hours and saw a few weeds lines, but never caught anything off them. Headed in by 11am with 2 in the box. A lot of boats on the water for a Thursday. Guess its the holiday season and more folks have off. Good luck, they're out there.
