Fished this Saturday and Sunday evening with my son in the backwaters between Edgewater and Oak Hill with Frozen Shrimp. Outgoing tide, weak but steady. It's different when I have my 6 year old with me, the goal is steady action, no matter what the species. Fished a few deeper holes for mangroves, pinfish, and puffers. only managed one keeper mangrove. tried the channel around marker 65 and got nothing but cats!
Last night we went back and tried some different areas, and got 5 more keeper mangroves.
Last week, whiting were thick, this week- we couldn't find any.
Shrimp are still running on outgoing tide at night-- size medium mostly
Redfish are all but gone in my opinion in this area (Edgewater) but I was never great at catching them anyways, drum have definitely decreased in number. Water temp was 85 degrees, seems like the fish are going into their summer pattern.
