Upcoming weather

Im mostly a land-base angler, but charter fish often.  We're scheduled to go out of John's Pass on Tues. 23, 20 - 30 miles....would you all consider that "iffy" weather? Too soon to say? I'm wondering if I should see if one of the days before is available. I'm anxious because my last 2 scheduled trips have been cancelled (new orleans)...hate to strike out! Ty....

Weather looks 2 foor or less at the WFC Buoy.  Should be fine unless you're out in a Jon boat.

Looks great right now but I don't trust the predictions that far out.  24-48 hours better.  5 days away a lot could change.  IMHO

Iffy for me is 3-4 footers at 3 seconds. It is doable, but not comfortable.

Weather looks like it turned out perfect for you.  Hope you catch'm up.  Report back how you did, depths, temps, baits, etc...  Good luck.

You won't believe it  :'(  Capt texted me Monday nite w/ details, asking I reply to confirm. I do. 7 am start, so Tues we depart 6:15 for Wawa (bout time u got wawa down there...it's still the best restaurant in Brigantine NJ! lol...). We get supplies, start heading to his home/ dock...and we're 2 miles away when he calls me and cancelled. His son/mate tested positive for covid, and they were both in quarantine. I don't know the guy...some of us were suspicious, but I always give benefit of the doubt. Wouldn't he know the nite before?? We were drained...I started calling every outfit on the map around John's pass, and just couldn't make a match (we need a boat w/ a head for one....)
Aside from that, you're right...we enjoyed beautiful weather right on the beach, down in your beautiful area. Thanks for asking....I have the worst luck. There was also a bit of irony in this story, but I'll save it for later.

I'm just curious who you booked? Was it a charter?

We recently went to New Zealand, and our tour group consisted of 16 people.  One gal got Covid right away and had to spend 7 or 10 days in her hotel room.  Eventually she rejoined the group but could you imagine all that time in a hotel room?  BTW another lady fell and broke her hip.  But she was operated on the next day and got an artificial hip.  Thanks to New Zealand health care.  I just heard from her and she is up and walking around, now in Australia.  So, I guess the lesson is count your blessings, things could be worse.

I guess one more thing.  If you had posted soon enough, I might have said that I would take you out - free of charge - I am not a licensed captain.  But it might have been fun.

Wow that's very friendly of you...thank you! Most of my boat fishing has been w/ un-licensed friends :)

Roger that. Just curious. Next time you're down here I run a charter on a bigger boat(36cc) and we have never had to cancel being we have 2 captains. We seem to be similarly priced as the one you booked.
