Handy list, however, I know on at least some of those, FWC is lead manager on only a portion of the WMA (e.g., OK Slough, Joe Budd).

Even though both WMAs you mentioned are state forest I believe FWC is lead manager over the entire area. Its true that Forestry does provide some services for recreational users. But FWC I think would have final say on most if not all management decisions.

FWC wont stand up for anything to benefit the hunter. Golden parachutes rule -- BOHICA

    PS...BEAR HUNT

From the sounds of it, I’d have to guess that your recent trip to Tallahassee to meet with the higher-ups didn’t go as you would have liked?

For a man with your persuasive abilities, I find that shocking! 🤣

You couldn't even get into the capital due to the height restrictions, kinda like the rides you cant get on at the county fair

Thanks for confirming what I suspected.🤣

BTW, I’m fine with being of average height. It hasn’t kept me from doing anything I’ve wanted or needed to do since I was around 12 years old.

I have you on height by an inch or two so my experience might have been different from yours. If so, I’m truly sorry to hear it.

I remember a certain event at Jennings State Forest; Present included FWCC, Division Of Forestry, Water Management District.
Game Commission CARL member cast a singular vote way back before then to assure the place was Bought.
Even though Game And Fish was not going to be the “ Lead” Agency.

What is the point  of this discussion?

Efforts to Develop Corbett or something??

DeSantisLand “ Everyone in USA  gonna move to Florida” concerns?

Repeat: What is the key point ??
Or..... shall we guess.... and just Skip.
Hunters are present yet relatively uncommon in Florida :wink

The point of the discussion is a singular agency gets blamed for everything on a WMA (hunt rules, habitat management, etc.) and the discussion was to point out WMA management could be FWC, Forestry, WMD, Feds, military, DEP, etc. depending on who the lead manager of the area is.  This was simply a list of which WMAs the FWC is the lead manager of.  While it is of benefit to acquire conservation lands to protect from development, it should be recognized each land management agency has a different core mission which is reflected in how those lands are managed.
