Homestead/Miami bank spots for senior citizen?

My father is visiting the Homestead Miami area next week and is looking for some bank spots to fish.  He is a 76 yo disabled veteran who still walks well, but cannot hike into difficult uneven ground sort of spots.  I am not looking for secret spots with giants, just places where he can get some peacocks, exotics, etc.  So far I have thought of the Florida City, Aerojet, Mowry, and Tamiani Canals.  However, I do not even know the best access areas for those spots.  Thanks in advance.
