Looking for some recommendations

Hey guys. I have a keys fishing trip planned from the 18th-25th and also have a few days prior open to kayak fish anywhere in the state. I am not familiar at all with Fl other than the keys, which I know very little about as I fished there last Oct for a couple days on my Hobie.
This trip to the Keys we will be renting a boat but how about the few free days I have prior. Should I hit the glades, the Crystal river looks good too. 
What do you guys think? Maybe it would be better to just stay in the Keys the whole time but I worry about wind that time of year when fishing from a yak.

Crystal River and the Keys are quite far apart  and completely different areas.

Do you have places to stay or camp ?
If its driving & camp trip.. you amay want to plan a few days in the SW side, 10,000 islands, E. City or Choko, couple days Evergaldes National Park, then the keys or vs. versa/

Wind is frequently a factor in January.....I would keep an eye on windfinder, and plan the trip accordingly with wind protection factored into your decision.  Good luck.
