Headed down to Costa Rica from 12/14-12/22 this year, and will be spending some time on the Osa peninsula at Botanika Lodge as well as a couple days around Manuel Antonio national park. Already have 4 days of guided reef/offshore fishing booked for roosterfish/cuberas/YFT/sails, but black snook are another species I've wanted to knock off my bucketlist too. I'll be able to bring a 4000-size spinning setup with me, and was wondering if it would be worth putting in some time on the beaches whenever possible. Is walking the beach and casting for black snook a viable tactic, or is the fishery much different from what I'm used to in SW FL?
Paddle faster, I hear banjo music.
