We’re going to do a partial remodel to our main bathroom (we have 1 and 1/2 bathrooms). We can’t pull the trigger on a tub and shower tear out at the moment. Had planned to do it this last spring (build a temporary outdoor shower) but my heart surgery nixed that. Hopefully I can do that this next year, but for now we’re going to do everything else. My issue is the small glass block wall I installed 25 years ago, it’s sooooo outdated. I’m looking for ideas on how to cover it up. Any thoughts?? I was thinking vinyl planks maybe.
I thought a fishing forum would be the best place to ask for remodeling advice.

Oh yeah, advice. Save your cash, do it all at once if we can still afford to eat by then.
But that’s not easy.

No scraping, just find the joists, use some mud over it as an adhesive, screw the new drywall into place and tape and paint.
Completely doable, best option. Secure any nail pops and add screws as needed first.
While I hate popcorn ceilings, that'd be far down the list unless you hire it out. Especially with your chest healing.

But I would wait until you pull the tub and just rebuild that entire wall and the ceiling then. No sense trying to piecemeal it.
You could even go crazy and add furring strips on the ceiling and pipe in a rainfall shower head.

I agree, I like it.

I'm able to fix most of my IT problems that way.
