I haven't been out for the past few weeks due to a tear in my left Rotator Cuff. I couldn't stand being landlocked any longer, so I went out today for a bit of nearshore trolling. I cheated a bit on Grouper by winching them in, but released 4 that were slightly short. So at least I'm trying. It's hard to remember not to grab the rod out of the holder on a strike. I had looked for the smallest saltwater electric reel that I could find that I thought would hold up under pressure, and ordered it direct from Shimano in Japan.
I began marking pods of bait down deep that had fish around them, but they probably were stuffed. No hits from them.
Around noon it got glassy and the bait came up so I could troll 4" and 6" plugs on 12# trolling rigs that were light enough to hold normally around the edges of the pods. Did well on Macs, but only kept two to eat fresh.. All were good sized and fat.

" Where there is a will, there is a way!" Nice job. Those macks do look good. Are you going to need surgery?
Hopefully not. I'm doing two sessions a week with a Physical Terrorist for stretching and strengthening my left shoulder. That outcome will determine if I will need surgery (after the fishing season.)
I've got the fishing figured out, and am working on another rod so I can troll for Grouper with two lines. I might just concentrate on trolling for Macks until the water cools below 70 degrees. I have plenty of light rigs that I'm able to use OK. But I may need an electric winch on my trailer. Cranking with one hand isn't fun.

I tore my left rotator cuff as well. I had to shift to using spinning gear even for trolling. I can reel fine with my left hand and pump the rod with the right one. I still have trouble using righthanded conventional gear, but the shoulder seems to have improved after 10 years without surgery. PT helps a lot of people.
You should blank out the gps position on that pic or we’ll need a traffic cop to get past the area..🤔
Nothing to find there. A clean bottom and no rocks or ledges anywhere nearby. That migrating school of bait will be long gone by the time anyone gets there. It's probably off of Bayport already.

😂, I’ve already made arrangements with my mechanic/friend on the way to my woods to c o c k it for me when on my way hunting. No shame in my game. 😂
What really has me worried is its 32 days til duck season. Figure I’ll buy a .410 semi if I can’t shoot my gun.
Just got home. They temporarily numbed the nerves to my arm and I can’t feel it yet. I just looked down and my arm was completely hanging straight down out of my sling and I had no idea. Strange feeling!

Last year they did that to me when I had a shoulder replacement; it keeps you from feeling the pain. Take the drugs before it starts to hurt not after.
Well since we are talking about our mishaps and whats keeping us from doing what we love I just had bilateral knee replacement. After about 6 to 8 weeks of rehab I hope to get back out on the water again.
Quad , Good luck. My in-law had a single and a guy in my club had a double like you. Both are back to fishing after having the procedure this year. Rehab is key.
My in law had two done at once because his surgeon told before the procedure "if you only had one done at a time you would never come back to do the other one"
Thats what they preached to me Louie so Ive been on it ! And yes Tom my Doc said that and being how bad both were he couldn't say for sure that the old knee could support the new one so lets just do them both. Glad I did because I wouldn't want to do this twice !
