Where are you located? Lady Stuart and the one that go out of the pocket are good. NEVER let them try and get you to stay with the minimum weight they rig you up with. Headboats are hesitant to give you the right weight to get down so you don’t snag and waste their lead. If your not going straight down best chance is a Bonita or something. I recommend bringing 30lb Florocarbon a spiro mini 60# swivel and Trocar #2/0. If you get a Bonita get strip it out for bait. You will be killing it verse the frozen bait they give. Bring squid too and maybe some nice frozen shrimp. Chicken rig a fish finder rig with the slide weight over the main line.
Ocean Obsession and the Canaveral Princess out of Port Canaveral are both very good head boats. Been on both and would recommend both. The crews are attentive and knowledgeable, the cost is fair, includes meals and they will take you where the big ones live.
im located in lake county …around mt dora. but not opposed to driving to a good fishing hole ..took my 19 ft key west out today. no hero’s …a lot of bait moving thru water very clear…hotter than h…….i may try to take him on the canaveral princess ……thanks for the response much appreciated !

A head boat trip is an adventure - you'll have a chance to catch fish, see fish other folks catch, etc.
Hope you guys had a fun time.
