Pretty easy, if you have a few seconds to look and enough woods time under your belt. 

Someone as experienced as you describe yourself to be shouldn’t have any trouble doing it at all.

It was a tongue in cheek comment. I can tell the sex and species of ducks on the wing along with dove species. Heck, I can pick the cross breed duck out of a flock and shoot it, done is twice. With witnesses.

It was the game warden who was hunting with me the first time. Almost hit him with the duck too. Wanted to make sure he could identify it.
