Maybe even a exceptional one!
Last year the place we've bought fishmeal for decades ( The business changed hands so that may be why. ) all of a sudden stops carrying real fishmeal, the 100% kind, and instead has a mostly grain product that seems to be like the old chicken soup joke, where the chicken was only dipped into the pot for a moment.
That stuff was worthless. And the pellets they had were of the same basic quality.
So today I started looking about for the real stuff. Ended up talking to the lady at Clay Ag & Feed on SR17 just south of Green Cove......she has the real stuff coming. I think she said $62 for a 50# bag......obviously more in the smaller bags as it's more work for them.
If they are not close to you it'd be a good idea to check about and find the good stuff now.
Of course.......my prognostications are so often wrong, as my wife!, to where maybe there'll be no shrimp. But if there are, good meal, the real stuff, mixing that up will be far more productive than fishing with junk.

And I would note that a friend who guides has a trip on the river Saturday where he plans to use live shrimp. He's convinced he can catch what he needs for bait around and south of Palatka based on what another guide told him.
We'll see.
And....supposedly there are enough shrimp in the Palatka area already to where folks are catching them off City Dock during the day. Got to be mostly mosquito size though. Louann and I have a timber crew to check on in the morning at the farm and plan to go see what if it's true after that.
