Anybody got a report on how the snook fishing is on the beach? I'm headed down in a couple of weeks and I'm expecting much better water quality than this time last year. That red tide got us bad but it looks all clear so far this year.
where you headed? Been a bit of a slow summer so far up near Venice and Sarasota. Decent numbers of fish, but really been concentrated around the passes so far. Not much luck for me or my buddies just walking the stretches of beach that have produced in the pass. Focus on finding areas of current or structure on the beach and you'll probably find some, just a bit more work.
I'll be fishing the beach down by stump pass next week and hoping for some snooks to keep me occupied while my wife catches whiting and pomps for dinner.
THERE SHOULD BE NO COMMERCIAL FISHING ALLOWED FOR ANY SPECIES THAT IS CONSIDERED OVERFISHED.
I'm headed to Casey Key so basically Sarasota area. I'm just glad to see that the red tide has cleared up for now and that I hopefully won't have to deal with that. Maybe it'll pick up in that area soon. In years past I have caught loads of them there.
I’ve see a lot on the beaches. Caught several decent ones this afternoon. You’re right about the water quality, it makes fishing the beaches so much more fun when the water is clear. You’ll crush ‘em. Good luck
