Yesterday carried some friends that own a tree service in my home town.They boxed a nice mixed bag of fish. Also there was a good shark bite in the gulf. Think we might have seen the great white that has been pinged in the gulf on our trip.

Well been some questions out there about me boxing red snapper on my trips. So lets  clear this up, I have a USCG captain license and enrolled in a drug consortium. I run both recreational vessels and documented vessels with federal reef permit along with federal pelagic permit. Federal permitted vessels for-hire red snapper season  opens June1st 12:01 and closes Aug 19th. Also as of this year all vessel with federal reef and pelagic permits are required to have a operating VMS to keep their permit active.

Last Thursday was the last day of  federal red snapper season for 2022. Had a few friends from my home town, few local friends and my local captain buddy. At dock started to call it off due to Gulf was full of storms. Finally said let’s give it a whirl as we really didn’t know how long we could fish or if fish at all. Wow was it ugly no where much to fish due to storms. Well we pulled it off had a great time and a few fish. Boxed lots of fish and made many memories during the season and will see you again in 2023. Now it’s time for a much needed family vacation on the lake.

Saw this in bay yesterday morning on the way out into gulf for a day of fishing. Bad day for someone, guessing vessel started taking on water and captain just ran it up into shallow water.
