Saturday (5-14-22) went to fish the outgoing tide in the surf to see what I can get into. Showed up to my spot around 10:30am, and found I still have a good hole with deeper water despite the hard NE winds last week. The bite was slow, so it was a good thing I ended up mainly chilling with the wife and some friends having a few beverages. Ended the day at 3:00pm with a total of 8 bites and 6 fish caught. 2 Pompano (9'' & 13.5"), 1 trout 16'', 3 whiting (10'' - 14''). Not a fast paced day, but a good grocery day.
Then, took my dad out this morning (5-15-22) at first light in his boat and decided to fish the last of the incoming tide in the intercoastal in a few spots I know. First line wet at 6:15am, and back at the ramp at 10:15am. Ended the morning with 1 Redfish (on spinner bait in flooded grass) 26.5'', 9 trout (top water, only 1 keeper 18''), 4 jacks of various sizes, and 5 lady fish. Not a bad morning, or weekend on the water. Hoping to wet some more lines after work this week with the nice weather predicted.
