A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away....

Actually, only 13 million light years away so in cosmic terms it's a nearby neighbor.  Took this image a week ago from Big Cypress.  Unmodified Nikon D7200 camera shooting through an 8" SCT telescope with an f/6.3 focal reducer.  Over half the frames were discarded but I'm still happy with the results.  This is a large elliptical galaxy in the southern constellation of Centaurus interacting with and consuming a spiral galaxy.  This galaxy gives off large amounts of energy in radio wavelengths giving it the additional designation of Centaurus A.

This is my setup.
