Full moon fishing in Marathon

im in NE fl but if I was in Marathon in april/may, regardless of moon phase, I would be hunting Mahi.. and YT on the way in or when it's too windy to get deep for mahi/tunas..  just sayin...  good luck

snappers bite heavy leading up to the moon, as do the wahoos.  The dolphin tend to slow a little but if you find floaters or birds they should still be available

Muttons.  Sorry, I don't have any mutton spots off Marathon, and the mutton spots I have off N. Key Largo are dead.  But the next two full moons are the best for muttons.

I never had much luck the night of the actual full moon.  Always did much better 1-2 night before or after.

Just got back from a week down there. Full moon that week and the Dolphin were small and scarce.  So I'm gonna say the dolphin are slower during a full moon. Or that the long lines have taken all the dolphin........

My excuses are there was little to no wind which caused the weeds to break up and scatter everywhere.  PIA for trolling.  Second, the Gulf Stream was around 30 miles off the reef.  Third, I saw some Turtles screwing and that is always a bad sign for fishing.
