Same here with watching one in the neighbor’s pasture. He visits our yard but gets a pass. I can’t bring myself to shoot him in the yard. I do call to him for practice regularly

I'd shoot him in 1/2 a heartbeat. Kudos to you for having restraint.

Wow! That’s a nice bird.  I would be pretty torn.  I guess having those genes get passed along is not bad.
I was hunting a gobbler last week for 2 days.  I found this on the third day at 5 AM. I couldn’t find tracks, but pretty sure it was a bobcat.  I was the last hunter out of the WMA the day before. Feathers stretched out for a about ten yards.  I could see where it jumped out to get him and where he got dragged into the bushes.
I had to go find another one. Took 5 days to get one, but finally got one on the last day of the hunt.  I miss turkey season already.  Time to get the trolling rods ready!

Oh no. Too bad but sometimes nature is tough. Glad you got one. Yes, it’s time to fish. Good luck with the trolling.

If the fwc cared about their highest valued cash crop they wouldn’t have a bobcat season it would be 24/7/365. But they are neither smart or ethical.

    My lines are out.

turkey is my favorite, pretty much plan my spring around it.
Wife had a heart attack in late January, turned into a 2.5 month hospital/SNF stay, shut my businees down 2 months early, didn't hunt 3 leases, my property, one special opp and one quota hunt.
I did hunt two mornings on a friends (close to home) property last 2 days..

oh well, wife is doing good and next spring is just around the corner..

I also missed out on a really cool(weather) Feburary to run my pointers, dogs are fat now..
I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.

Glad to hear wife’s doing better, stuff like that puts the small things in perspective. Jelly head those birds next spring.

ANUMBER1 glad to hear your wife is doing better.  Those spurs will be sharper and beards longer on those gobblers you weren't able to kill this year, so hopefully you can put the smack down on them next spring.

Turkeys beat me up this year and I was exhausted.  Was kind of glad when it was over, but now I'm already having withdrawals....

Turkeys won this year. Except the year my Dad passed (2016) and I was taking care of my Mom and only got out a time or 2, was first year I didnt get a bird since I started hunting them about 2008 . Both sons got a bird but I couldnt help my Daughter get her first. 20-something friend of mine got one while I was accompanying. Good to see those youngsters excitement though. But is it over....

I think I have kin in Ole Kentuck and Meat-chicken I need to visit....

Glad your wife is doing good. Sometimes we just have to man up and be there. Hopefully next year things will work out for you.

It was nice to meet you pinman.  We know what hunts to apply for in November.  KY is about over but PA is just starting and has plenty of public land.  Good luck.
