Carbon Fiber build

Has anyone here experimented with or done a Carbon Fiber build of a Kayak.

I have a kayak that I love the design, its a gelcoat/fiberglass build, the model is no longer made. I'm thinking of doing a carbon fiber build of a very similar design with some personal choice modifications...
