Navarre fishing pier rod/reel setup?

My wife and I started going to Navarre last year fishing from the pier and we love it. We bought a couple of rod/reel spinning combos from Half Hitch there in Navarre, $50.00 rigs.

I’m wanting to buy me a little bit better setup to have for this year. What do you guys recommend? Reel size? Rod length and action?

What is your current set up lacking in your opinion? Feel like you need heavier or lighter? Stronger reel w/ bigger spool? Longer to extend casting distance (watch transporting issues if you go too long)?

I'd go back to Half Hitch.  They know the pier and fish, know what you currently have and know what to suggest for an upgrade
