Sweetwater fishing Rousseau 3/03/2022 with Alex

Having  not been on the salt I've been going freshwater. Been catching a ton of schoolers on Hernando. Took Snookspanker once and got about 30 and caught 50 a few days prior last month.

Had a club tournament on Rousseau on the 20th. Got lucky and caught a pair of identical 8lb 2oz bass. Won the derby and pocketed a nice sum of cash !

That doesn't happen often.
Alex and I got started quick with him breaking the ice .

The bite was pretty slow and I was beginning to feel he didn't believe my stories so I had to catch one as big as him..

You can see how impressed he is. That fish could have swallowed him..
OK , maybe it wasn't that big . Still was biggest of the trip. We both caught big mudfish each. He got the biggest and caught his on 6lb test. 4 or 5 other bass  we caught were small but was a nice day.
All fish came on plastic worms.

I'll be getting back on the big pond soon. Will post up what happens.

Later , capt louie
