Finely get a chance to go fishing !

Hey all , Been a while but everything worked out to free me up for a trip out tomorrow. Me and the wife will head out of Waccasassa and can run to Yankee Town or Cedar Key area. What Im wondering is where to target for fish. Around the islands or out on the flats for trout. Heck , I guess I could do both. Just thought Id ask for any advise since its been quite a bit since Ive been out there. Thanks for any tips guys !  Tim

Well I ran South to the big mangrove area and fished with popping corks with no luck so ventured down to the Porpoise Point and fished the grassy areas and found the trout. No reds and tried shrimp on the bottom but only got rays and cats. The weather man was off , go figure , wind was up and down all day to went from rough to smooth but to windy for my boat to hit the grass flats. But beats sitting home thats for sure !

Sounds like a decent day. I seen the wind kick up a couple times. Those trout should be on the flats with this warm weather.

Gonna try for them next weekend Capt Louie weather permitting.
