Had fuel delivered yesterday..........OUCH!

4.31 a gallon X 207 gallons.
That is the most I have ever paid by far. ( Thanks Brandon)
I have a feeling it is gonna get worse now.
Any how the weather is looking good for this weekend, might as well go burn some................

My lord...may put me out of a job being we'll have to charge more for trips...like almost double for gas by spring time I'm guessing. I ran a consult trip yesterday and found some good numbers of RG in the 110-115' stuff off Port Richey. Haven't been seeing a lot of RG on our last couple of trips. BTW, who do you use for fuel delivery and is that for eth free?

    It was REC 90.
I use Mobile Boat fuel out of Bradenton. Bill comes up to Pinellas at least once a week.
He has a 100 gallon minimum.
I have been using him for five years and have had zero issues.
Hoping to put some of your jigs and weighted hooks to use this weekend, going to look for some yellowtails and mangos.

Ahhhh crap...I need to find one of those up here in Pasco. we have 110 gallon tanks in back of my partners truck so we run from gas station to boat. Just gets to be a pain on back to backs. Hope you tear it up man! Our mango bite was terrible for some reason. Hit a couple mitigation spots and could not poke through the ARS to get to the mangs. Got maybe 20 mangs with 6 people on board.

Hope you get em man! just a heads up, if you have anything away from the pipe I'd try those area's first. Anything near the pipe or mit is just overwhelmed with Red Snapper.

I was worried about that.  Heard they were thick.  Was going to try a little further out than normal.  Will look at my #'s again though.

I hit stuff from 140' in to 100' on pipe and mit and all were covered in ARS. Maybe closer in would be better? not sure. Gave up into 100' after 4 stops.

Back to fuel. I brain farted and filled one of my saddle tanks instead of my center tank so i had to fill the other to even things out. I usually just run the center so i said screw it I'll just fill it too. Yikes! I did the math. $200 for every fish we kept yesterday.

Never equate your fish take verse your fuel burn or trip cost, that's not what it's all about. I always hear " that gouper was 85 bucks per pound". If that's your mindset, you just don't get it.

I ran to 115 feet west of Clw. yesterday.
Now I know why I don't fish in February!
Got set up on the structure, wind and tide were perfect. Fish were behind the boat after less than 5 minutes. The ARS-mango ratio was terrible. Easily 10-1.  We did manage a couple of mangs that were 7-8 lbs. Never saw a yellowtail, this wreck usually holds em.
Plenty of Almacos , kept a few for the smoker.
Lots of legal AJ's around the boat all morning. Even bottom fished it and released some gags. Water temp was 68.
Hit a couple of red grouper spots on 100 feet- lots of shorts.  Hit a hog spot in 70 feet. No hogs but a dozen porgies.
The weather was beautiful. Ended up with enough fish for everyone to have dinner.
Shout out to Snappa Slappa jigs and Chris- We did not bend a single hook! Even on some 10- 12 lb ARS.
I have used a lot of mission jigs in the past and they are bad about bending when using the de- hookers to remove them. Your weighted hooks worked great too!
    Sorry no pictures.

Yea, bout the same for our trips in the past week. Just massive amounts or ARS on everything. RG have been tougher than normal but I'm blaming that on the sudden cold snaps a couple weeks ago. they should fill back in hopefully. Glad the jigs are working for ya my man. Took a lot of trial and error for those things.

Nah, just making a fuel cost comment.  We just like getting out.  In fact, I sort of enjoy the crazy ARS bite just for the fun of it.  Even if we can't keep 'em.

In fact, we've been tossing back a lot more fish than we keep lately.  Our freezer got so full we stopped  keeping snapper altogether.

It's all good Burch, I admire you, my fishing partner is my wife as well. If the boat is leaving the slip my girl is with me.
Great report, sorry about the snarky comment, I just loathe the guy at the dock that does my trip cost divided by my pounds of fillets. lol.

I just started using EZBoat fuels. He’s out of tarpon. Got filled a couple weeks ago. I’m in Hudson so he should be good for you also. He gave me a $.20 per gallon discount for being over 200 gallons.

Rec 90 here in Key Largo is $4.99 gal at the pump. Not the marina. Afraid to even ask.
