Bait during winter

I fish out of stuart and can consistently get threadfins, pilchards, and dines from may through october, but have never had any luck getting bait nearshore during the winter months. Anyone know what types of baits are around this time of year? Not gunna ask for numbers but if you are willing to drop the area that would be cool ;)

You use shrimp inshore, maybe you'll see some small pilch. Otherwise you do the best you can at the usual spots and/or buy bait form Stuart Live Bait. The bait migrates away in the winter.

Stuart Live Bait, 772-985-0425 has the best bait when available, he meets you in the Manatee Pocket near the Sandsprit Boat Ramps.  Usually, other than July/August, live shrimp are almost always available except for recently.  There has been a shrimp shortage the past month, which makes things really difficult.

Can catch sardines sometimes during winter, goggle eyes sometimes during winter in the dark.
