Anyone cast jigs for whiting. I'm thinking about walking the beach and throw goofy jigs. Looking for any tips or experiences and good beaches to fish. I live near Hana park so I'll try there first. I don't mind moving around a lot to find the fish.
Whiting have small mouths, so down size your hook. Put your lure not far from a run out and up against the bar. I have had good success with spoons colored the same as sand fleas or fiddler crabs.
This is a OLD thing........but Shad Darts........50 odd years ago........tied two to a rig.......were used for pompano now and again. Though, almost always with a bit of bait of some sort.
Caught whiting on them.........and I think often when the bait was gone.
I for one will be interested in what you produce with what you're trying.......and pictures......good pictures.....
